Our Ndoro studs are based on the ancient Ndoro's that were commonly used for trade during the height of the Great Zimbabwe Empire. The Ndoro's were initially introduced by the Portuguese and were made either of conus shell or porcelain. The people of Great Zimbabwe adopted these into their culture. The number of Ndoro your wife wore indicated not only your wealth but also your status in the community.
Our stylized version of the Ndoro's are hand engraved. Each little indentation that forms our Ndoro are hand made one at a time. Due to the hand made nature of this design, every single one of the Ndoros engraved on these earrings will be different. These Ndoro studs are 10 mm in diameter
Whenever possible we use recycled silver in an effort to reduce our footprint.
