African Ebony & Sterling Silver Earrings

African ebony and silver are such a gorgeous combination I knew that eventually, I had to work with them. The ebony is salvaged from old carvings and the silver is recycled sterling silver.

This wood has such a beautiful feel to it as you work with it that it is quite addictive! :) There is something quite different working with organic material as opposed to metal. It's not as forgiving of mistakes as silver is as it's easy to smelt silver back down and start again. It took a few tries to get the African Ebony cut thin enough to make the earrings not too heavy.

The African inspired silver and African ebony earrings have a latch back fitting and are pretty chunky.

These earrings are part of our Matobo Collection, inspired by the landscapes, people and enduring spirit of Zimbabwe's Matobo Hills.

Packaging
